2015 Boots & Blossoms Trail Challenge

Big congratulations to two Happy Trails riders that competed in the Cal Net Horse Show held on May 13-15, 2016 at the LA Equestrian Center. Jenny Wong received first place in Equitation & Obstacles, second place in Showmanship and third place in Futures & Pole Bending.  She was awarded the High Point Winner in the Walk Division.
Shaylee Wells received first place in Equitation & Obstacles and third place in Pole Bending.

2016 Boots & Blossoms Trail Challenge was held on 7, 2016.  The event was open to the public to test trail riding skills through our obstacle course while riding their favorite horse, pony or mule.  With the expansion of our facilities, which now includes an additional outdoor arena, 18 challenging obstacles encompassed the Sence Pavilion, Sensory Trail and Saputo Arena.  Over 20 riders participated.

On May 14, 2016 nine Tulare and Kings Motorcycle Clubs united for “Run for Autism” poker ride.  Over 200 riders supported the event generating over $20,000 for scholarships and programs at Happy Trails.

The Visalia Convention Center was filled with the sound of folks cheering on their favorite steeds as Happy Trails hosted over 550 friends and supporters on May 30 at our annual spring fundraiser - “Night at the Races.” Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors and all the folks who wagered on the races, this event generated over $100,000 to support our programs of Equine Assisted Activities and Therapy.

Our First annual Boots & Blossoms Trail Challenge was held on Sunday May 10th.

2nd Annual Happy Trails Horse Show

November 2014-On Saturday, November 22nd, 32 riders gathered at Happy Trails Riding Academy to show off their skills and compete in the 2nd Annual Happy Trails Horse Show. Thanks to the careful planning of the staff and the help of more than 50 volunteers, the horse show went off without a hitch. Everyone was especially thankful for the beautiful, sunny weather – a big change from the chilly temperatures we all faced at last year’s show!

Each of the 32 riders competed in three events consecutively: Trail Obstacles, Pole Bending, and Hurry Scurry. The Trail Obstacle class included 10 harvest themed obstacles each rider and their horse moved through. The Pole Bending class is a timed event. The pattern included weaving the poles and well as a straight pass. The Hurry Scurry class is also a timed event. This pattern was in a U shape and riders had to demonstrate a two-point position over ground poles.

Our guest judge for the event was Lyn Meredith, owner and operator of Wishing Star Ranch in Tulare. Lyn owns, trains, and shows Arabians and Half Arabians as well as trains all breeds for her clients.

We'd like to thank everyone who sponsored a rider and a big thank you to the class sponsors:, Dr. Don Blackford, Circle N Saddle Shop, A&M Livestock, Tulare Outlet Center, Eric Shannon Farming, Chris &Melinda Audino, MB Price Foundation, Goshen Mounted Police, Billious Inc., Giotto’s Alarm, Idea Printing, Ryan & Laura Morrelli, Andre Gaston, Rabobank, Tulare and VSI, and a special thanks to the Visalia Breakfast Lions Club and Rowley Hay Source for making sure everyone was well fed!

First Annual Happy Trails was a HUGE Success with 28 Riders Competing!

The 1st Annual Happy Trails Horse Show took place on December 7, 2013 and was very successful thanks to the dedication, support, and generosity of our riders and their families, volunteers, sponsors, and our community.

This show was exclusive to the current riders at Happy Trails and we had a total of 28 riders compete in 14 different classes during the show. All of the riders were able to show off the skills and accomplishments that they have been working so hard to achieve throughout the year and each of them went home with a placing ribbon. More than 50 volunteers donated their time to help make the show a successful, safe, and fun event.

We'd like to thank everyone who sponsored a rider and a big thank you to the class sponsors: Sue Cercone, Dr. Don Blackford, Broken Arrow Western Wear, Russell Paving, Inc, Circle N Saddle Shop, A&M Livestock, Tulare Outlet Center, Eric Shannon Farming, Melinda Audino, Artis & Company, Tulare County Stockyards, and VSI, and a special thanks to the Visalia Breakfast Lions Club and Rowley Hay Source for making sure everyone was well fed!
